Noise & neighbors

Everything we sell is an aerial — it's loud by design. Planning around your neighborhood is half the design of a good show.

What to expect

Aerial cakes, reloadable shells, and finale racks all produce a real bang. Cakes hit 130–150 dB at 3 feet (which is why nobody should be at 3 feet). At our recommended 50-foot spectator line, the perceived volume drops by about 30 dB.

Plan around your neighbors

  • Knock on doors a day before the show. People with babies, sensitive pets, or PTSD-related concerns appreciate a heads-up.
  • Check your local noise ordinance and the discharge hours for your town before you order.
  • Keep the show short and end at a reasonable hour — a tight 10-minute show is kinder to the block than a 40-minute one.
  • Bring pets inside before the first shot. See our pet safety guide.

Decibel reference

For context: a normal conversation is ~60 dB, a car horn is ~110, a jet engine is ~140.
